ABBA Fund in the Wall Street Journal

The ABBA Fund was mentioned in the Wall Street Journal the other day! More importantly, it is encouraging to see them take notice of what God is doing in churches around the country when it comes to adoption and orphan care! You can read the article here.

Albert Mohler, President of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, also wrote a brief article on the subject entitled “The Culture of the Congregation: Celebrating Adoption.”

As I work with churches around the country, helping establish adoption funds, and helping families overcome the financial barriers to adoption I see this growing passion first-hand. I love what Dr. Mohler says:

Given the vast number of at-risk orphans in the world — now numbering
in the millions — this resurgence in adoption among American
evangelicals should be a matter of public celebration. In the United
States, 127,000 children are considered “unadoptable,” and many of
these are racial minorities. Shouldn’t the adoption of these children
be a priority for the church? It would seem so, but politics and
political correctness often complicate the rescue of vulnerable
children.

Amen! Let us publicly celebrate what God is doing and pray that He would continue to stir His church to action for His glory and the joy of orphans here and abroad!
