I’ve been reading Randy Alcorn’s ‘Treasure Principle‘ the past few days and highly recommend it. It has really challenged my view of money and given me a fresh perspective on eternity. Here is a great quote by A.W. Tozer:
“As base a thing as money often is, it yet can be transmuted into everlasting treasure. It can be converted into food for the hungry and clothing for the poor; it can keep a missionary actively winning lost men to the light of the gospel and thus transmute itself into heavenly values. Any temporal possession can be turned into everlasting wealth. Whatever is given to Christ is immediately touched with immortality.”
Good stuff. I read a Tozer biography last month. He certainly lived this out. Upon his death, his wife reviewed the records. She learned that he consistently refused pay raises from the church and gave back about 50% of his income to the church.
