“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.” Psalm 136:1
I am thankful beyond words for the goodness and love of my God and Savior who adopted me as His son; but I also think of the many friends and family and people around the world who remain spiritual orphans.
I am thankful to have an incredible family and wonderful friends to spend this day with; but I also think of the thousands of children in the US and the millions of children worldwide who have no family.
I am thankful for my beautiful wife and amazing mother of our children; but I also think of the many birthmothers out there who made the courageous and hard choice to place their children for adoption.
I am thankful for my children who God gave us biologically and through adoption; but I also think of those couples that are waiting for their children.
I am thankful for the great food we will eat; but also think of the millions of people around the world who have nothing to eat and no access to clean water.
I am thankful for God’s provision of a roof over my head; but I also think of the people right here in my city and around the world who are homeless today.
I am thankful for God’s promise to redeem this world (Rom 8:21); and also think of the reality that until then there is much work to be done as His hands and feet to bring “heaven to earth” (Matt 6:10).
