Official Hope for 100 Launch

hope100-logo1

We are excited to officially announce that launch of Hope for 100, a campaign with the goal of providing loving, Christian homes for 100 children through adoption or foster care.

The first campaign is kicking off over the next two Sunday’s at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, TX.

Our goal through Hope for 100 is to-

  • Raise awareness of the plight of the fatherless.
  • Issue a specific challenge to the Church to care for a targeted number of orphans.
  • Begin to match interested families with families who have already answered the call to be foster or adoptive families to give guidance and
    encouragement.
  • Provide an array of opportunities to care for orphans through an Ongoing Orphan Care Ministry.
  • Help provide the necessary funds to families seeking to adopt.

This first campaign will also host the “If You Were Mine” adoption conference at Green Acres Baptist Church on January 31st. This one-day conference provides a relaxed, non-threatening environment where you can consider practical information about adoption, foster care and orphan care ministry from an objective and biblical point of view.

After a successful launch, Hope For 100 desires to see its efforts replicated and multiplied in churches throughout the United States and the world.

For more information on how you can help make a Hope for 100 campaign possible and help families adopting financially, or how you and your church can serve as the lead church in a campaign to be carried out by the evangelical Christian community in your area, please contact the ABBA Fund or call toll free 888.775.3422

Happy Thanksgiving

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.” Psalm 136:1

I am thankful beyond words for the goodness and love of my God and Savior who adopted me as His son; but I also think of the many friends and family and people around the world who remain spiritual orphans.

I am thankful to have an incredible family and wonderful friends to spend this day with; but I also think of the thousands of children in the US and the millions of children worldwide who have no family.

I am thankful for my beautiful wife and amazing mother of our children; but I also think of the many birthmothers out there who made the courageous and hard choice to place their children for adoption.

I am thankful for my children who God gave us biologically and through adoption; but I also think of those couples that are waiting for their children.

I am thankful for the great food we will eat; but also think of the millions of people around the world who have nothing to eat and no access to clean water.

I am thankful for God’s provision of a roof over my head; but I also think of the people right here in my city and around the world who are homeless today.

I am thankful for God’s promise to redeem this world (Rom 8:21); and also think of the reality that until then there is much work to be done as His hands and feet to bring “heaven to earth” (Matt 6:10).

Nearly 250 Families Initiate the Adoption Process

This is exciting news out of Colorado! I pray that what these churches in Colorado are doing for the orphans in their State will spread to the rest of the country. There are already similar initiatives that I know of in Florida, Arkansas, Kansas and Texas.

Good News: Focus on the Family Helps to Find Homes for Colorado’s Kids

Nearly 250 families initiate the adoption process.

by Jennifer Mesko

About 1,300 people flooded into New Life Church in Colorado Springs
on Saturday. Their mission: To learn more about the 700 kids in Colorado’s foster care system waiting for adoptive families.

Focus on the Family and the other sponsors of the Wait No More event had hoped 100 families would feel led to welcome a child home.

“We are thrilled that nearly 250 families started the process of adoption from foster care, and we will continue our efforts until we are the first state with no more waiting kids in foster care,” said Kelly Rosati, Focus on the Family’s senior director of Sanctity of Human Life.
