Testify

One of the most encouraging things in life is to hear from someone what God has done for them. I thought of this as I read this morning about the man with a demon that Jesus healed (Luke 8:26-39). Jesus told him:

“Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you.”

Our testimony of what God has done brings Jesus delight, it honors the Father, and it encourages others to see and recognize what God has done and how great He is.

This makes me think about what God has done for me; most of all how He saved me from my sin and if that wasn’t enough all the ways He has blessed me beyond deserving. Every day if I stop long enough to reflect I can see the hand of God leading and directing. And the more I recognize God’s presence and power at work in my life the more I want to proclaim what He has done to others.

When it comes to adoption I have the joy of talking to couples every day who are in the process of adopting. With that I hear some incredible stories of what God has done. Stories that make you realize God is a mighty provider, a healer, sovereign over paperwork and foreign officials. He is mighty and He is merciful.

Please don’t stop proclaiming what God has done for you in salvation, in directing your steps, in providing for you, in your past adoption, or your current adoption process. Remember God is at work in a thousand more ways today than we can see!

All this said, if you have a testimony of what God has done for you in adoption and would like to share please email me and I would love to post it on the blog.
